EDG approached Hawkeye to increase the overall user experience of their website, as well as give them an updated look that could be integrated into a more comprehensive brand experience as they came to need it. The overall aesthetic needed to have enough legs to carry it through an extensive web presence (138 pages), printed materials and needed to be easily translated for future usage.

Hawkeye started the project with a detailed review of the company’s online presence and recommended a new architecture following a specific hierarchy. Working together with the EDG team, we decided on the focal points of a user’s visit and other information was organized into a manageable system of secondary “tabs.” The site was divided into the four main sections with four secondary areas. The four focal points all keyed on EDG’s capabilities and what any interested user wanted to know. Since EDG focuses on the oil, gas and industrial fields, the hierarchy started with the different fields in those areas: Upstream, Midstream, Industrial, plus an additional services area that covered any offerings that did not fall under those categories. This new categorization system allowed users to have a clear path for navigation, but still allowed them easy access to major links, like the overall company philosophy and corporate structure.
